how can i get umbreon and espeon? its a random eevee evolution? because i've tried with 3 eevee and always gave me Vaporeon

(3 edits) (+2)

Hi dude. This is totaly random. I had a lot of luck and got each eeveelution in each Eevee I evolved. Followin by order: Espeon > Vaporeon > Jolteon > Umbreon > Flareon. The other ones came another Vaporeon and Flareon.

But it's totaly random. Keep trying! ^^

Edit: Someone said on bellow posts that if you evolve the Eevee and don't get what you want, don't exit from the evolve screen, close the game and open it again. It will not cause the game to save the progression and you can try again a new eeveelution.

(+2)

thank

(+2)

Hey, i am someone and i can confirm that it works that way. The same for other pokemon like slowpoke

(+2)

Hahaha! I didn't remember it was you who said that. xD

(+2)

thank you, so like poliwrath and politoed nice!

(+2)

Yup! Bellossom and Vileplume from Gloom as well. :)

(2 edits) (+5)

An idea: allow Glyphs, Evolution, Level Up, and Tribute to involve Inventory, maybe by using a button to switch between the two, so we don't need to fiddle with the deck just to do those things and then revert the deck to what it was.

Also, maybe add an option for "quick sell" (halve the hold timer) and show the price somewhere (maybe move the inventory down a little so the price can be put above them?)

Oh, and make it possible to move the scrollbar by click and drag.

(+1)

I'm enjoying it, but I'm at a point where I can win pretty quickly but the Victory screen feels like it takes ages to go away.

(+2)

Firstly, just wanted to say how much I enjoyed this game. To the point that I've caught all non-legendaries and got every single one to Lvl10. Got about 2/3 of all evolved forms fully tributed too.

Few suggestions to help out the game:

Better way to sell cards. If we could just select all the cards we want to sell and then push a button, would really help to reduce the time spent & lag.

Increased legendary odds. With everything I've done, I've found 3 legendaries. Even with increased odds, I'm never finding them. At this point in the game, I should have been able to find all of them.

Increase rewards/stronger rebattles for elite 4. Getting 900+ coins for beating the trainers at the end means that there's no reason to rebattle the elite 4. Would love to have more incentive to rebattle them

(+3)

Tribute needs to show what the other pokemon receives. I understand random but this game is very grindy as is. the tutorial does not explain tribute or glyphs or the hidden mechanic that adds stars to your cards or that there is a x that appears on the tributed pokemon. I remember doing 3 tributes that added nothing and only made the other card weaker. Tribute needs either an explanation or to be shown what it does.

(+2)

was a nice surprise to see this on the vinesauce vod channel today :D are regional variants in the game (if planned at all)? life just isn't complete without alolan exeggutor, lol

(+2)

Hi there! I've seen videos of this game and heard about it, and I would love to play it, but I don't have a windows machine! If you are able to make a mac or browser version I would absolutely love to play it. :^)

(+1)

Maybe you can try crossover on your mac. It is a tool to run windows stuff on mac and there is 14 day free trial to test if it works for you. 2 Weeks is enough to get Crystal League Champion.

https://www.codeweavers.com/crossover/download

Love the game and highly recommend it! I beat the game in about 3 hours. After that i wanted to make the best team and "catch them all." But after about 10 hours spamming packs (after droprate changes) i haven't gotten a single legendary... Are the droprates incredibly low?

Is it me or have Tributes and rare cards have become rarer?

(+2)(-1)

I found a Zapdos through free cards, then got too excited and accidentally miss-clicked one of the other cards and lost it forever lol. Anyway way to possible implement a safeguard so one doesn't get away from themselves in excitement when finding legendaries? :p

(+2)(-1)

Oh nooooo! Then I found an Entei and didn't realize I was at my max card count. :(:(:(

(+1)(-1)

Amazing game! Just made an account on itch.io to leave a comment on this game.

Will there be any plans for new content like gen 3+ Pokémon or harder end game battles? (Like elite four and champion rematch with teams fully leveled up) Hoping for a decent challenge for fully leveled up teams.

Anyways had a blast grinding through the levels, keep up the good work!

(2 edits) (+2)(-1)

I'm not sure if I'm just missing it or not, but is there a specific way to get each of the eeveelutions(in the respective gens ofc) without just hoping for the best in the evo screen? cuz i would like to have each of the ones i can get without having to potentially waste eevees to get them. i already have the jolteon

Btw, wonderful game! Super creative idea and very fun to boot! Can be kind of hard at times, as sometimes the berry draw is just not good but that's just the luck of the draw I guess.

Also, it would be nice for the Gym Leader screen to tell you what their type is without you having to click to fight them.

(+1)

Yes there is a way. Go for the Evolution and if it isn't the one you want then leave the game without leaving the evolution screen.
The game will not save and you can try again because it isn't just random for the eeveelutions.

that literally is random. the only way to get the one you want is to reload the save every time until you get the one you want.:/

(+1)(-1)

Amazing game for sure, but confused why the abilities on my cards stopped working against the final boss... seems there is a bug with the ability that is suppose to add 2 DP when played. beyond that, one of the best games I've played all year.

(1 edit) (+1)

Thank you so much!

There is a Glyph called Mist that disables other Glyphs during battle, your opponent probably used it!

There was also a bug related to that Glyph in v1.3.0.0, which I fixed just a bit ago. Make sure to download the v1.3.0.1 update if possible!

does Mist disable only the opposing pokemon's glyphs, or every pokemon on the opposing teams glyphs?

(+1)

It disables every pokemon, even your own!

(+2)(-1)

I'm not a fan of card games, but i gotta say this is a great game!

(+3)(-1)

I made a challenge for myself to beat crystal elite member with pokemon that are only Level 1. I upload the video from my first try maybe someone is interested. Please ignore the many stratical mistakes i made. The battle took 20 minutes so it's not a fast paced deck and the gameplay is kinda "cursed" hehe
(+2)

I love challenges like that! Amazing. A very well resource menagement. Incredible. However that fork attack broke your legs.

Unique problem: A single Koffing with Misty would destroy any glyph strategy. So we need to think other ways to achieve this goal.

Anyway, you made a good job! :D

So you watched the part that hurts me the most ^^

The fork pokemon was really big problem and i could not kill it because even with courage buff my ponyta could not get strong enough to kill it and the piercing glyph at the end is also deadly for this combo. Maybe i should consider different glyphs like tenacity and ruthless to be more flexible.

I didn't think of mist koffing until you mentioned it but now it is my biggest fear and i'am not sure how to handle it.

I lost but i learned a lot and will come back stronger

Cool to see that some people enjoy this kind of videos because first i wasn't sure if i should upload this attempt so thank you for the tipp with koffing :]

(1 edit) (+1)

I was thinking in "Curse" + "Counter attack". Depending in the order it works (or the order we put the Glyph on pkmns), if Curse works first and let the opponent at 1 life then the Counter attack after to deal the last 1 damage, it gonna be an instant kill to any adversary.

(+1)

I already tried both ways with curse and counter attack, but i got the same result and countet attack description litterally says that it wont kill the enemy.

Thats why i dropped counter attack. Maybe a mix of different glyhps is the key to win

(+2)

I love your videos, that's awesome!!

(1 edit) (+2)

And i love, that you still bring updates.

@moodytail feel free to ignore this
Maybe this is a good option to share some suggestions that would make life easier

- The Tribute/Glyph's/Evolution could be used multiple times as long as you have enough money, like the level up event

- The card pack should not include berries

For people like me who try to make different type of decks, this would be a huge timesaver. But it is just my opionen, maybe some people like it this way^^

(+1)(-1)

patiently waiting for 1.2.7.0 that will add a button for 'attack all' instead of having to hold up or w on keyboard

(+1)

Done!

(+1)

nice! only nitpick is i wish the button was on the right hand side of the board - since after attacking i often need to click the end turn button, so i end up having to constantly move my mouse all the way to the left and then all the way to the right

also, for some reason all my wheezings that had mist now have recovery glyphs on them instead! weird. I'm using 1.3.0.1 btw

Yeah... sadly Koffings/Weezings that had Mist before the update will now have Recovery instead, due to a problem in the code that wasn't properly future-proof before now.

The code is now better, but Koffings/Weezings caught before v1.3.0.1 won't be able to keep the Mist Glyph, only newly acquired ones. Sorry for the inconvenience!

I only used a mouse. super easy

(+3)(-1)

Awesome game! Great job! If you don’t mind me asking, what game engine did you use to make this?

(+2)

GameMaker Studio 2!

(+1)

Ah, too bad. If it was made with Godot, I would gladly offer to help with further development/maintenance!

(+1)(-1)

I hope you make the linux version and android version soon just to play it on my steam deck and my tablet.

(+2)(-1)

I've created an account just to say thank you!

What a great game!

(+1)(-1)

I just wanted to make sure just in case this wasn't mentioned or I wasn't reading correctly, but only pokemon up to gen 2 are included? so like no pokemon introduced in or before gen 2 that get evolutions later i.e.: gligar->gliscor or electabuzz->electivire are in the game?

(2 edits) (+1)

No they don't. Only gen 1 and 2, no evolution for those who get a new one after gen 3 and on.

(-1)

Is there a way you could make an android version?? I only have a tablet so i can't play it but would really like to and theres probably more people like me who can't play it

I thought this site was mostly for PC games and players

(+1)(-3)

Could use a little bit more work, such as all attack buttons, or setting a way to auto draw. The gameplay lacks complexity too.

(+2)

You can auto attack with the "arrow up key" and auto draw can't work because u can chose between berry and pokemon, wich you can also get by using left and right arrow key.

Is there a way to rebind these?

Not currently, sorry!

(+3)

Very good game! Loved it! Will keep playin
(+2)

It's always cool to see other people making different kind of videos to the same lovely game.

Welcome to the club

(+4)

yo mt, the game is pretty fun and well done!

if I may ask, would you mind sharing the code? I'm a game dev myself and I think I could learn tons from it, especially from the game's architecture and the way you've organized it. thank you!

(+3)

Since I'm just a hobbyist dev, the code right now is pretty much a mess. So if I release the code like that (which I think could be a cool idea), I'd first need to tidy it up a bunch, write some documentation to explain it, and add comments to most of it... which would take a while, when I get time to do so.

(+2)

oh, not to worry, I'm not here to judge or criticize your code at all. I don't think you need to make it all professional and tidy in order to share it, only if you really want and think it's cool. I think that the end result of what you've done is awesome and that's what matters most :)

Android version when?

Hey there!
I would like to know if there is a way to change the resolution? Because in 4k it is driving me a little mad haha

(+1)

There's a scaling setting in the options!

(+1)

ahh thank you! I must have wrongly interpreted that, thanks for replying! (awesome game btw!)

I am a bloody idiot, but I found the option now and resized the window, but I can't get it back up with any mouse press or key (I accidentally made the window too small ;;) and reset options does not work with this either.

You should be able to enlarge the resolution with the left click! But if for some reason you can't, you can always close the game, delete the settings file (delete the file config.sav located in C:\Users\(NAME)\AppData\Local\PocketCrystalLeague), and launch the game again! That should fix it.

Just a note: It wasn't obvious in the tutorial that I had to pick Rattata (unless it said it in the text and I missed it, in which case, oops)/ I was trying to play Pidgey but it just wasn't working, until I realized I needed to play Rattata.

(+1)

I'm starting now and it clearly says that you have to play Rattata.

(+3)

hey is it alright if i try streaming this on twitch?

(+2)

Of course! Thank you!

(+8)

For anyone that likes to import their games to steam, I made some custom art for the steam grid and the banner

(+2)

That's so cool!!

(+2)

Such a fun game! Easy to pick up and kept me hooked for hours. If you ever add any content or make a sequel, it'd be another instant download for me.

(+2)

Having troubles moving to v1.2.6 from v1.2.0. If I delete the AppData .sav files I gain the attack-all functionality. If I restore the .sav files I get my cards back but lose the ability to use the attack-all shortcut keys... any workaround for this?

Great game btw, I am absolutely addicted!

(3 edits) (+2)

Maybe the step is to big. I can give you the version
1.2.3 1.2.4 1.2.5 and try to get to version 1.2.6 with some extra steps.
Join their discord and pm me if you want to try.

(1 edit) (+1)

That's strange! Please send me your save file to my email address (moodytail@protonmail.com) so I can check it out!

(+1)

Sent, thank you!

(+1)

I love this game, and I just went through and beat it all....and realized I did it on 1.0.0 (the bump up in legendary drops rates will feel real nice after an update hahaha). Is there a process for updating the game files? Will I encounter similar errors as blitaxos?

(+1)

Actually, I just followed the steps for transferring to a new device and it worked fine. The 80 characters were the same, so I imagine I could have just replaced the data.sav file and it would have worked to?

There won't be any issues! blitaxos' issue was not caused by the game, so don't worry.

(+1)

Actually such a fun game, I love it! Still haven't beaten it yet, but it's already going on my favorites in the site.

Thank you very much!

Is there a way to optimize deck and inventory screen loading? after you get 40+ cards in there, the game chokes for a second to load it.

(1 edit)

Sadly, I haven't found a way yet to make it lighter. Make sure to sell your unused cards, though!

Actually I noticed last night it's even less than 40: apparently the choking starts at 30 cards total.

It might have to do with either the cards themselves or the animations. Maybe splitting the view in pages would mitigate it?

(+2)

Great game, I'm currently trying to beat the 8 gym.

maybe it could have a bit more keyboard controls?

like a button to draw from the berries and one to draw from the pokemon pile.

also maybe would be possible to automate the placing of berries.
if you have enough berries in hand just dropping a pokemon onto a empty slot could make the needed berries to be dropped on the slot too?

thanks either way can't wait to see how the game keeps growing <3

(+1)

And perhaps an option to remind the player (via a prompt) that there's unused DP and for attacks that weren't done.

yeah totally.

(+3)

You can press A or the left arrow to draw from the berries, and D or the right arrow to draw from the pokemon deck.  (And W or the up arrow attacks).

(+1)

oh neat thanks, also just noticed that I got the 1.2.5 version a day before the update, so I didn't notice that I had an "old" version xD

(1 edit) (-1)

I don't really get the game, is it just "place card, attack" or does it has something else to it later on?

So far it feels like an auto battler without any of the auto parts and apparently there is no downside to loosing?

Not saying it's bad, i like the menu design, but i don't understand the point of it

(+1)(-1)

Still enjoying the game a lot although it can be a little grindy and too rng based at times. This is recified by the lact of punishment for losing though so it's not too big of an issue.

Here are my thoughts!

Should the final battle be re-balanced at all?  I do perfectly fine in the 4 battles leading up to it, but then I keep getting trounced in the last battle, since nearly all the other trainer's pokemon have been tributed to a high degree, and I just can't keep up with them, even with all mine at the max level.  That seems wildly unfair, considering how rare it is to come across the Tribute event yourself.  In order to get your deck tributed to the same extent, you'd need to grind over and over and over again to an unbelievable degree.

On a related note, I played a card with the Medic glyph on it during this battle, and it didn't heal one bit a pokemon I had played earlier that had in fact been tributed 3 times.  Is this a bug with the tribute enhancement or an issue with this last battle?

(1 edit)

Ok, after a couple more attempts of the final battle, I was finally able to beat it, but only because I lucked out and the other trainer only threw about 1 other heavy, maxed-out card at me before I was able to run him over instead.  I realize RNG does have a part in games like this, but it does feel like a huge difficulty spike between the final battles and the absolute last battle.

On the flip side, those last battles are a great source for money, since they pay high, and if you lose in the last battle, you get to keep all the money you got up to that point.  Incidentally, does saving really need to be disabled between the final battles, if the game ends up saving your progress regardless, should you lose in the last battle?

(+2)(-1)

I think this game has ruined Inscryption for me.  I've had it on my wishlist for awhile, since I love deck-builders and it's pretty well-loved, though I didn't know much else about it and avoided spoilers.  Well, I almost bought it last night knowing that it was a big inspiration for this game here.  Then, I saw that Inscryption had a demo, and WOW am I glad I tried it first.  The tutorial does an awful job at explaining the point of the game, the currency, what the W and S buttons/icons/whatever are supposed to do or represent, and even simply how to end your turn!  On top of that, I really dislike how I have to scroll back and forth just to see what's in my hand, versus what's on my side of the board versus, what's on the opponent's side of the board.

@Moodytail - your game is presented in such a more streamlined, easy-to-read layout that after playing the Inscryption demo for about 30 minutes and then uninstalling it, I had to compliment you on your design.  (I'll probably eventually try the other game again at some point, but now I know I should wait for a better sale or a bundle).

Inscryption has much more to it than what you see at the start (including other user interfaces), but I completely agree that this game is very well presented! Great job!

Oh I know - I've completed Pony Island, so I know what's in store for Inscryption.  It's just that I found that I got incredibly annoyed at the user interface for the part of the game covered by the demo - for one thing, I literally stared at the screen for awhile in the beginning trying to figure out what I was supposed to do to end my turn.

I should have started with that game and then moved on to PCL, but I didn't know at the time I started PCL that the gameplay was heavily influenced by Inscryption so I did it in reverse.

I fed my Clefable to much Rare Candy and it became God to break the enemy and me :|

New player here? Is rare candy really present in this game? and if it is, how can you obtain it?

No sorry my friend, i edited my save file to break the limit cap in this game for the sake of the video.

The meme at the end of the video inspired me to make a video like this. ^^

@General Banane can you share your sav file? also i have no idea what program you used to edit other than save edit online.

(+1)

@istoleyourname sorry for the late response for some reason i didn't get a notification and saw your post by pure luck.

I use this website you mentioned and upload my save file there to the the clear text like in you picture https://www.saveeditonline.com/

It's a a challenge to do what you want but for example you can change the type of card:

Search for "main_card_id_X": 251.0

The 'X' is random number given by the game and a intern ID, but i can change so be careful

The 251 is the Pokemon Celebi it's the exact same number as in the pokedex entry so go to the official pokemon site.

You can change the 251 to another Pokemon you want like 6 for Charizard

Change the value to "main_card_id_X": 6.0

Then click on 'download save data' at the end of the screen and replace the save file.

If you want my save file then join their discord and pm me and i will send it to you.

The Excel sheet was made by me ^^

Hope it helps

Great game, I've made a weird challenge thingy. Not balanced in anyway, vague & none of the achievements are suggestions for actual achievements if they are ever to be added. Feel free to do whatever you want with this weird thing i've created.Wacky

This is awesome!!
